I was a member of the dynamics subteam on Longhorn Racing Electric. I learned how to design parts in SOLIDWORKS, communicate and collaborate with other team members, and machine parts for of an all electric racecar. My primary task was creating the anti-roll bar (ARB), an important suspension part to adjust the stiffness of the vehicle. I designed an adjustable ARB, where each increment was 1.2x stiffer than the last. I had to negotiated with the frame team to find a suitable place for mounting.

Model for the anti roll bar. This was made adjustable via changing the screw location, as opposed to swapping out the entire anti roll bar.

Model for the mount of the pillow blocks to the frame. I had to negotiate with the frame team to find a suitable place for my ARB (suspension team already picked out a spot for me on the upright).

Suspension rocker arm milled on a CNC. The small tab is milled then surface grinded away. On the right, the bearing hole callout was too tight, which ended up crushing the brass bearing.

Finished suspension rocker arms with brass inserts installed.
